Belgium

Next August 8, my wife and I will arrive in Amsterdam and have ten
days to spend near there, before we have to get to NYC on August 18.
So we have tentatively planned the following itinerary:
Aug 8 Hotel in Amsterdam
Aug 9 Morning Bus or Train to Antwerp
Hotel in Antwerp
Aug 10 Hotel in Antwerp
Aug 11 Morning Bus or train to Bruges
Hotel in Bruges
Aug 12 Hotel in Bruges
Aug 13 Morning Bus or train to Ghent
Hotel in Ghent

Aug 14 Hotel in Ghent
Aug 15 Morning Bus or Train to Brussels
Hotel in Brussels
Aug 16 Hotel in Brussels
Aug 17 Hotel in Brussels
Aug 18 Flight to JFK
Any comments would be appreciated, regarding the following (or
anything else):
1. Length of time in each city (except Amsterdam; the only one of
these cities where we've been before, so we don't want to spend any
more time there).
2. The sequence of cities in Belgium. Would getting to them in a
different order be better, either for price or a better bus or train
schedule?
3. Some major Belgian (or nearby) city we've left out that we should
definitely not miss?
4. For each inter-city trip, would a bus or train be preferable?
5. Cost and schedule of the inter-city trips. Please point me to a web
site, if possible.
6. Where, in each city, are the bus or train stations?
7. Do train or bus tickets need to be bought in advance, or can we buy
them at the station the day of departure?
8. For each city, hotel recommendations. We would like a
centrally-located hotel, near the major sights we would like to see.
It needs to clean and comfortable, but a lower price is preferable to
extra luxury. We'd like to spend no more that $125 a night, if
possible, but we can go to $150 or so, if necessary.
Thanks in advance.
