I thought I would share a situation with you that I experienced on my 

Carnival Victory cruise in 05.

I met the couple that were in the cabin below mine.  I was on Deck 10 

and they were on 9 in a small suite.  It so happens we were the same age 

and grew up near each other.

Anyway as the cruise progressed (Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios), 

we become close and we would visit each other in our cabins as well as 

out on deck.  He was a smoker and we are not, therefore I could smell 

his smoke drifting up to my balcony.  That didn't bother me much.

While in Ocho Rios, I must have had 6 or so offers to purchase MJ and 

one fellow even asked me if I wanted to buy some 'weed'.  He pulled the 

'weed' out of his pocket, and it really was 'weed' from the bushes. 

That was funny.

Back on board and on our way back to Miami, I smelled pot smoke drifting 

up to my balcony. A while later he came up and invited me down to his 

cabin.  When I entered I was shocked to see no less than a half pound of 

pot sitting in a tray, him smoking a joint the side of a cigar, and 

offering me a 'toke'.  Of course I refused and was concerned how in the 

hell I was going to get the smell out of my clothing.  He also bought 

some cuban cigars.  I told him he had a hell of a lot of toking to do 

and cigar smoking to do before we hit Miami on Saturday.  This was 

Thursday evening.  I guess he made it through or maybe not but he didn't 

mention any problems when I corresponded with him later on.

I suppose some people just have a knack to get away with things while 

others not so much.  I WILL drag along a 12 pack of soda on my next 

sailing though IF we drive to the port again.
