Starting a GNOME2 session takes an unusual long time

Hi :)
not a serious issue, anyway, when the session starts it takes many
seconds before the panel gets loaded. For several seconds there's a
standstill.
Dunno at what upgrade for my testing, this issue began, since I'm busy
and have less time for the computer at the moment [1].
I did the last backup at Oct/01/2011, before at Sep/30, Sep/28 etc. IIRC
I hadn't this issue at this time. I suspect there was an upgrade between
the end of September and some days (perhaps a week) ago, that does cause
this behaviour.
Did anybody notice this too?
Is this a known issue? I had no time to read the Digest.
Cheers!
Ralf
[1] The reason why I was unable to reply to many PMs, sorry, I'm busy.
