Youtube download application

We have a newbie client where I work who wants a Youtube video download
application. I tried a couple and didn't have good results. The ones I
tried were MiniTube from the repositories (there is a newer version
available outside the repositories), and the Video Download Helper
extension to Firefox (the sound comes out much worse than what is on
Youtube but the video is OK). I was surprised I wasn't able to save
anything from MiniTube since I can save short clips using the Mac
version. The clips I was using to test the software were "The curse of
the Flying Wombat episode 1" and "What time is it Eccles". I tried a
couple of new ones as well with the same results.
The system I am using at home to try out the various applications is a
64bit quad core with an SB Audigy2 sound card running under 64bit Mint
10 (equivalent to Ubuntu 10.10). In a pinch I can switch to the 32bit
LXDE version of Mint 10. The client is running a maxed out Dell GX280,
32bit, single core, internal sound, and 32bit Mint 10.
My questions are should I experience any problems with my home set up
that the client wouldn't experience? Before I try things one at a time
what are people using and what do they recommend? If MiniTube actually
works, should I skip the version from the repository?
Later
Mike
