11.10 missing some stuff
On the screen where I pick the user I want to log in as, under
past Ubuntu versions and most other Linuxes, I could pick
the "session" that I wanted.
I don't seem to see that in 11.10? Am I overlooking it?
How do I go from a picture back to plain color background?
Where did all of my desktop theme combinations go? They're
all gone? I've upgrade this system from 7.04 on and now
they are all freaking gone?
Why can't I change my font?
Why did that ridiculous top menu crap come back - I had removed
the packages for it? Why did the upgrade process ignore that
and stick me back with them again so I had to go back and
remove them again?
Why can't a right-click on that useless top panel and like
add/remove stuff?
Why can't I right-click on the "launcher?" at the left and
customize it?
This is like a bad dream. Several years of my life when people
ask me about Ubuntu I would tell them it's a great, well
managed Linux distribution. I can't do that any more. I'm almost
certain this all started going down hill when the ditched the
thing that set them apart the most...the earthy brown colors
switching to the mystical purple crap. It's all been one
long slow down hill slide since then.
