Problems installing Mint on a Llano laptop
I just bought a new Toshiba Satellite L745D with an AMD Llano processor
in it. I had an old copy of Linux Mint 10 64-bit lying around, so I
installed it. It was mostly successful, it installed well, the only
problem was that: (1) it couldn't see my wireless adapter, it only
worked with the ethernet, and (2) it couldn't change its screen
resolution from 1024x768, but the native resolution of the laptop's
monitor is 1366x768. So I downloaded all recent updates to see if it
resolved these issues. It didn't seem to, so then I decided to download
the more modern flavor of Mint 12.
Now when I try to install Mint 12 on this laptop, the screen goes blank
and it can't come back without a reboot. Anybody have an idea what could
be wrong here? Please don't make me go back to Ubuntu.
