Auto-kill gnome-settings-daemon?
I've developed a problem with my computer 'freezing' for several seconds
at a time with all four cores running at 100%.
I've traced the culprit to gnome-settings-daemon. If I fire up htop and
kill it the problem disappears. I can't uninstall it because lots of
other gnome features depend upon it to start up.
Is there a way to automatically kill the daemon after log-in?
