Samsung panels IMHO have a better picture than Sony as for LCD types.

Sony has always has more a "pastel" picture tone as opposed to "earth

tones."  We have a 40" (or 42"/44" cannot recall now) and really like

it a LOT.  There is nothing negative about the picture quality to

remark about. It's fantastic!!  Right after spending 1500 smackers,

LED panels hit the stores that supposedly have better S/N and darker

black levels. The LED is thinner and uses less electrical power (~450

watts for the LCD.)
